The core differences

  1. How many channels, and how much judgment. NexLev says its Niche Finder has analyzed 157M+ channels, with 21 filters. Kavinto tracks 50,000+ long-form and 20,000+ Shorts channels, far fewer, and puts the work into a report on each one: estimated earnings and RPM, a median of measured videos, and whether the format is one you could make.
  2. A bundle, or one plan. NexLev's Niche Finder only comes in Pro, at €42/mo, or €39/mo billed yearly, which also includes the Chrome extension, MCP and 200 API requests a month. Lite, at €13/mo, or €10/mo billed yearly, does not include the Niche Finder. Kavinto Pro is $30/mo, or $300/yr and covers only the research workspace.
  3. Where you do the research. NexLev works inside YouTube through its Chrome extension and inside AI assistants through MCP. Kavinto is a web app: you search a topic and open reports on kavinto.com.
  4. How you can try it. NexLev offers free tools, but the Niche Finder needs Pro. Kavinto's free plan gives you limited channel previews and 3 channel reports a day, with no card.
  5. Refunds. Both give 14 days. NexLev's pricing page offers a full refund within 14 days of purchase; Kavinto refunds first-time subscribers in full within 14 days of their first payment.

Which one to choose

Choose Kavinto if

  • You want to try niche ideas free
  • You want every channel judged alike
  • You want to see sample sizes
  • You only need niche research

Choose NexLev if

  • You want the largest channel index
  • You want tools inside YouTube
  • You want MCP and API for automation
  • You will use the whole bundle

When to use both

If you already pay for NexLev for its extension or automation, Kavinto's free plan works as a second opinion: spot a channel with NexLev, then open it in Kavinto to see its median views, how many videos that median is based on, and whether the format is one you could make. Three reports a day are free.

Frequently asked questions

Is Kavinto a good NexLev alternative?
For the job NexLev's Niche Finder does, finding and judging a niche, yes: it has a free plan, a lower Pro price and a report on every channel. It does not replace NexLev's Chrome extension, MCP server or API, which Kavinto does not have.
Which is cheaper, Kavinto or NexLev?
Kavinto Pro is $30/mo, or $300/yr. NexLev Pro, the plan with the Niche Finder, is €42/mo, or €39/mo billed yearly, and NexLev Lite is €13/mo, or €10/mo billed yearly without the Niche Finder. NexLev bills in euros, so the gap depends on the exchange rate, and both tools show local prices in some countries.
Which has more channels?
NexLev, by a wide margin: it says its Niche Finder has analyzed 157M+ channels. Kavinto tracks 50,000+ long-form and 20,000+ Shorts channels and gives each one a full report.
Does Kavinto have a Chrome extension or an API?
No. Kavinto is a web app. It has no browser extension, MCP server or API.
Can I try both for free?
Kavinto has a free plan with 3 channel reports a day and no card. NexLev has free tools, but its Niche Finder is only in Pro; its pricing page offers a full refund within 14 days of purchase.
Which is better for faceless channels?
Both let you look for faceless channels. NexLev Pro lists faceless outliers among its features and has the larger index. Kavinto lets you filter a niche to faceless channels and shows, for each one, whether its views hold up across the videos it measured.

How we compared

We make Kavinto, so this is not a neutral page, and we have tried to make it a fair one. NexLev is described only from its own public pricing and feature pages, and Kavinto only from facts we publish on kavinto.com. Everything was checked on September 29, 2026. We did not use paid accounts for this page, nobody paid to be covered and none of the links are affiliate links.

Prices were read from each pricing page as seen from the US, in both billing periods where the page offers both. A feature marked "Not listed" is one we could not find on the tool's own pages, which is not the same as the tool not having it. Read our editorial standards for how we check and correct these pages.
